As with any kind of battery-powered active electronics in a guitar I wouldn't go too terribly long without checking the battery and swapping out for a new one. Didn't have any specifics on how long a battery's lifespan would be with this switch but that he and other testers had all spent considerable time playing and testing the switch using the same battery and that it still had plenty of life left to it afterwards. He said the control cavity of the guitar he had it installed in was shielded, and there was no issue with connecting to the Bluetooth and that the app worked pretty well and was easy to use/figure out. In software delivery you can have it fast, cheap, or reliable. I'm a 20+ year software dev and there are a lot of commonly used mobile frameworks with hidden 3rd party spyware in them. Security, the lack of any real marketing around it makes it feel rushed and I would be very wary of the security of the app.

Both Android and IOS backup your app setting so there is literally no need for it.Ģ. There is plenty of storage on modern smart phones for the few kb of data required to store the presets. They could potentially make as much or more money from tracking you and selling the personal info they steal from your phone to data brokers than they would from selling the hardware.
